FYI: Talks by Experts: 3 Strategies for Preserving & Enhancing Cognition in Older Adults
The world’s population is aging and promoting a healthy physical and cognitive lifestyle in older adults is a major public health challenge. The human brain is paradoxical in nature: fragile yet robust, it can adapt to severe injury and yet small disturbances can be devastating. It continues to develop and change throughout our entire lives, but knowing how to take care of it can be a struggle. We’ve all heard that diet and exercise make for healthy living, but how do we make for healthy brains? As we age, busy schedules and increasingly sedentary lifestyles can lead to our physical health falling by the wayside. We barely think of our cognitive health until something goes significantly wrong. We all want to enjoy the best our brains can offer for as long as we can, but it can be difficult to know where to start maintaining them. Join us as we delve into neuroplasticity and aging, and explore activities to maximize our brain health as we age.
