FYI: Talks by Experts: Surveillance – The Master Patterns
Surveillance is a cornerstone of governance and has been a topic of much discussion as it seems to be rapidly assuming new forms and intensities. This talk will step back from some of the details in order to give a big picture of “What’s Going On” in the operation of surveillance, how we got here, and where we might be going. Dr. Kevin Haggerty is a Professor of Sociology and Criminology at the University of Alberta. He is a Canada Research Chair in Surveillance Ecologies and has an extensive history of research and public commentary on matters relating to surveillance and visibility.
