FYI: Transitioning into care with Dementia- it doesn’t have to be scary

Transitioning into care, whether for oneself or a loved one, can feel like a daunting journey, particularly when dementia is involved. However, it doesn’t have to be scary. This presentation aims to shed light on the compassionate and empowering aspects of this transition. By exploring strategies for effective communication, fostering a sense of familiarity in new environments, and nurturing a supportive network, we can navigate this transition with resilience and grace. Through understanding, patience, and a focus on maintaining dignity and quality of life, we can embrace this change as an opportunity for growth, connection, and meaningful experiences for both individuals with dementia and their caregivers.
